About Me
Hello! My name is Bel.
I am a student at Carleton University (located in Ottawa, Canada), currently pursing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Game Design and Development. I am also working towards a minor in Statistics.
I am an indie developer with experience in:
Game Design
Level Design
Narrative Design
Game Writing
Game Programming
I am drawn to games that do more than just entertain. I believe that games are a very powerful medium, capable of creating real change in the world. My areas of interest include educational games and empathy games. Causes that I am currently drawn to include improving people's understanding of mental health and disabilities, fostering empathy through sharing experiences, and making it easier to learn all sorts of random topics (for example, linear transformations and sorting items into the correct waste bins).
When I'm not working on or playing games, I love to make jewelry, DJ, and participate in water sports. I have been a varsity athlete since my first year of university; my primary sport is artistic swimming but I have also competed in rowing at the university level. Fun fact - I used to conduct a youth air cadet band which consisted of 100+ brass and reed players, pipes and drums players, and highland dancers!
